Hi Everyone!

I am Rajashree Biswal, working for an EdTech start-up as a Senior Software Developer. I am also a Women Techmakers Ambassador for WTM <> and this blog is about my experiences with Women Techmakers and what it means for other women in tech.

I came to know about the Google Developer Groups back in 2019. When I was looking up for local meetups where I met one of my friends who was co-organizing the event at GDG Bhubaneswar <>. My curiosity was at an all-time high this was my first time being a part of an event like that, and I wanted to know everything about it.

The first event that I attended was #IamRemarkable workshop. As much as I loved attending the event, I also wanted to speak on some topic on events like these. I asked my friend on how to be able to talk about technology on such events and with her help, I finally got a chance. The community hosted a session on React, I knew that was my chance and I took it. I got the chance to speak about technology with other speakers. It was one of the best moments and equally terrifying because all I could think was speaking for the first time in front of other professionals. The audiences were new to the topic and thus I got my confidence back to finally speak during the event.

Being a part of the GDG community and being a WTM Ambassador has had a very positive impact in my career. Through these events, I came to know of other women who are an inspiration to all, I have also had the opportunity to work with technologies that were new to me, and challenges like these boost my energy to keep going on. I cannot say how much being in the network has impacted my life even though it has just been one year since I came to know of it.

Another highlight of this journey has been my graduation from Women Developer Academy by Google. I learned a lot during the one-month of sessions and the amazing mentorship that was provided to me. A quick thanks to the organizing team which had designed the modules so well for enabling women like me to the world of technology.

My motive in life resonates with that of WTM. As a woman, I have always wanted to give other women the platform and mentorship to learn new things. WTM has been doing that for a while now, giving women like me the platform to learn and present it to the world. I feel so proud to be a part of the beautiful network.

Thank you all for reading out my blog:-)
